"Meralco said that customers who already paid their bills between December 4 and 22 will have their next bills adjusted in compliance with the Court’s decision.
For the unpaid bills in the same period, customers are advised to either pay the amount equivalent to their November bill or pay the December bill if the amount is less than the previous month.
Both transactions shall only be made at the nearest Meralco Bayad Center or a Meralco Business Center.
For unpaid bills dated December 23 onwards, the amounts have already been changed to comply with the Supreme Court’s temporary restraining order."
I haven't paid yet my December Meralco bill because I'm totally mad that this government of ours has no care about it's people. It's a good thing that our Supreme Court stopped this crazy increase. Anyway, my November Meralco bill is only 11,003 pesos with a consumption of 980 watts. My December bill is 14,055 pesos with a lower consumption of only 945 watts. It's a 3,000 pesos increase on power rates where my December consumption is even lower than the previous month. And come to think of it, this is only a partial increase, not even half of the intended power increase.
I'm not sure whether I made the right decision to stay in this country or have rather migrated like all my other classmates. But I still have faith in the Philippines up to now.
