Penshoppe All Stars Window

While I was browsing at the SM Mall of Asia, I saw this beautiful window display of Penshoppe. They must have spent a fortune just getting this stars. Unfortunately, their store is not as popular as Uniqlo who has a 1 hour waiting line.

I still like Penshoppe. They have basic appeal to the kids.

It's a beautiful window display. I'm not sure if this was Gingesnaps. But I just like their window display.

Gingersnaps is a kids clothing store which I was a regular customer until I was able to hire a seamstress who makes the clothes of my children already.

Represents my life, which is to live COLORFULLY.

Comfort Food at Juan's Bistro at SM Mall of Asia

I was so busy at looking for new business at the Print and Graphic expo at the SM Convention Center that I totally forgot my lunch. It's about 6pm already and I was feeling nauseous. I had a busy day, went to the Kiehl's opening at Trinoma then picked up my kid at Miriam before going to the SM Convention Center.

There are a lot of food options at the mall but I was looking for comfort food. Filipino food for that matter. I saw Congo Grille but there's a Congo Grille at Tomas Morato. I was looking for a new place, a food place that I have never tried on.

I saw Lugang Restaurant. A very fancy looking place and there was a queue outside so I'll just try this next time. I'm so hungry already, I need food asap.

Then I saw Juan Bistro. There is a big menu that is posted on it's side window and everything is Filipino.

The place was 3/4 full.

The restaurant is quite small. The seating capacity is about 70 people. This is the counter.

Lots of people coming in.

This is on the right. The place is really quite small. I'm seated at the back our table is against the wall.

I ordered Pork Embotido - 150

Sinigang na Baboy - 250

My favorite Mongo - 135

Pork Liempo - 160 (not so good - the meat was tough)

I took a picture of the pork liempo sauce because it's color pink. I was just amazed.

Total bill is about 900 pesos for two persons. Not bad.

The food overall is ok but will I come back. No. It was just ok.

This Riso machine cost 350,000 pesos. It's a Riso machine for flyers. I plan to offer these soon.

This photo printer is 500,000 pesos. It produces up to A4 sizes and has very good quality print.

Have to work doubly hard to buy these toys.

This shot was taken at the bridge connecting the SMX convention center and the mall itself.

I used my Canon S95 camera and used the "miniature" function.

This is Canon S95 Vivid function. Crisp and sharp colors. Look at the clouds. Amazing isn't it.

I'll be coming back to this area again tomorrow since I'm visiting the WOFEX convention at the World Trade Center.

Opening at Kiehl's Trinoma Today and that Funky Lady Liberty

I received a text from Kiehl's Trinoma that they will be opening their store today. But I went to Trinoma not because of Kiehl but just to hang around with my eldest since her school will officially start this monday.

This Statue of Liberty mime reminds me of my New York visit at Lady Liberty. Outside the ferry station is a mime act that looks exactly like this. All in green. Laura still does not recognize her but once I bring her to New York she will remember this first time meeting with the Statue of Liberty.

This mime promotion is just fantastic. It's unique. Unfortunately, they held it around 1pm where there are only a few people at the mall. It would have been nice if they did this on a weekend. This payday weekend.

Horrendous Lines at Uniqlo Mall of Asia

I was at SMX Convention Center today to attend a photo and printing convention. After attending the convention I went to the mall to window shop first before going home to avoid the traffic. As I went around the mall, I noticed a lot of people carrying Uniqlo bags. There were a lot of streamers that are hung at the mall's ceiling announcing the opening of Uniqlo which was today.

I asked the manager at Mrs. Field's where Uniqlo is and he told me that there is a very long line just to get in. True enough, when I went up to the second floor, the lines just to get inside was so long that it will take you almost an hour just waiting. I saw the merchandise from outside since the layout of the mall is open. It seems the designs are just basic color of cotton shirts and pants.

I applaud the marketing efforts of this brand. I think they hired the right people to promote their brand in the Philippines.

I did not bother to fall in line because I'm not really a fan of sale items. Shopping on sale makes you buy things that you don't really need.

Another thing is that if I go shopping, I don't want to be hurried upon.

I would eventually visit Uniqlo some other time when this hype will die down.
